A brief clarification in the world progress on the decent work and economic growth goal:
From 2014 through 2018, the global economy increased by an average of 2%. Only 1.3% growth in real gross domestic product (GDP) per capita was seen globally in 2019 and 2020, according to estimates. A global economic recovery is underway, with China and the United States at the forefront, with the distribution of vaccines and government assistance. According to projections, the global GDP per capita will rise by 4.3% in 2021 and 3.1% in 2022 (Guterres, 2021).
However, it won't be until 2022 or 2023 that many nations' economies are predicted to grow at their pre-pandemic rates.
Real GDP growth for LDCs was 4.8% in 2019 and is anticipated to have dropped by 0.3% in 2020 as a result of pandemic disruption. Real GDP growth in LDCs is anticipated to rise up again in 2021 and 2022, hitting 4.0 and 5.0 percent, respectively (Guterres, 2021).
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development's 7% objective, however, is anticipated to be far exceeded.
