The meaning of decent work and economic growth:

The definition of decent work is defined as work that upholds the fundamental rights of the individual as a human being and upholds the rights of workers within the confines of a set of safety regulations and standards for calculating remunerative wages, considering the worker's physical and mental well-being while performing his duties.

Economic growth is often understood to represent a gain in income for a certain country because it is defined as a positive change in the level of output of products and services in a nation over a specific period of time. GDP growth percentage is used to gauge economic growth, and it is compared from one year to the next.

The reason why this goal is important:

  1.  Encourage the formalization and expansion of MSMEs through access to financial services, as well as development-oriented policies that support productive activities, fair employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation (United Nations, 2021).
  2. increasing economic productivity through innovation, technology advancement, and sector-specific attention to high value-added and labor-intensive industries (United Nations, 2021).

The objective is to design policies for sustainable tourism that will lead to job opportunities. Economic growth depends on bolstering local financial institutions and expanding aid for trade to underdeveloped nations. To promote sustainable economic progress, the Enhanced Integrated Framework for Trade-Related Technical Assistance to Least Developed Countries is stated (United Nations, 2021).

And for Support, here are some statistics and data:

1. The number of unemployed people worldwide increased from 170 million in 2007 to over 202 million in 2012, including about 75 million young women and men (United Nations, 2021).

2. Between 2016 and 2030, 470 million additional jobs must be created globally to accommodate labor market entrants (United Nations, 2021).
